Jan Ivelic was born on May 19 1979 in Split,Croatia in a musicians family. He has showed interest in drumming and music in general since the early age.
By the age of 15 he finished primary music school for piano and had started to play drums with a local metal / progressive band, while also listening and practicing to fusion, jazz and funk music.
For the last 10 years he has recorded and toured with many Croatian artists like Dino Dvornik (late Croatian funk star), TBF (eminent funk / hip-hop band),
Oliver Dragojevic in Royal Albert hall in April 2010 (Croatian pop legend) and many others.
In the Croatian drum camp in Groznjan / Istria / Croatia in 2009, which was hosted by Horacio Hernandez , Bill Brufford and Pete Lockett, he won a scholarship for the Drummers collective 3 week intensive program and went to New York in November-December 2009. He had a privilledge and honour to play a tribute gig along with Mr. Jeff Lorber and Mr. Jeff Golub for Dino Dvornik in his hometown in August 2010.
He is currently playing with his new pop / funk / jazz band called GALERIA, Waveform band and Starlight jazz trio.
